ugh. interesting demographic they surveyed. Apple most innovative?!? I bet it is cause of the Macbook Air. I'm just going to stop before I get more annoyed.

General Motors is ahead of Facebook?

how is a company that is heading towards bankruptcy, more innovative than Facebook?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

The first thing I thought of when I saw this was "Apple" - sure enough, heh. Expected, though. Like 'em or not - they are innovative. Interesting seeing BP in there, though.

Didn't know the Wii would propel Nintendo that far up.  I guess I am not that suprised Apple is numero uno again.

You have to think more than one year back. Apple gave us the Macintosh, the iPod and the iMac. It's OS was certainly a huge influence for Windows. The iMac showed people that computers didn't have to be ugly. We don't even need to discuss what made the iPod innovative.

They're talking about innovation, not efficiency. Facebook is just another networking site in the crowd. Nothing revolutionary there.

It made a young kid a billionaire as well.  Quickly becoming more popular than Myspace or any other of the same type of stich.  I'm not sure it can be classified as "innovative" though, in my opinion.

I won't argue that it's extremely popular and successful. But so were the Backstreet Boys. Although, Facebook is much cooler than the Backstreet Boys.

what innovative thing has GM done?
i mean, come on...flex fuel? thats not innovative....thats adapting to what the market dictates.
it might be innovative that they have managed to stay in business, but honestly, i dont see anything they have done as truly innovative.

take Nintendo for example.....the Wii is innovation.
hummers are not.

of course, i could be overlooking their business model and many other things, but as far as products and services go, i really dont agree with that.

I just looked back at the article and it lists them as innovative for their processes. So you're right, it's the business model. Hard for us to get though, since it's not something we would be exposed to.

They have innovated the making of what is to be one of the greatest bankruptcies in history.

How can anyone describe Starbucks as being 'innovative'?
Apparently they're more innovative than BAE systems, NASA and Ferrari....

ok, so ya.....the "innovation" they are talking about in this article lies in the companies operating procedures, NOT products and services.

@CP, i would say that the Starbucks business model is extremely successful (besides over-saturation), when compared to BAE, Ferrari and NASA.
they are ALL great companies, but i doubt Ferrari brings in as much revenue as Starbucks does slanging over priced coffee to people who think "grande" is a size that makes them sophisticated.

now, as far as products go, you better believe there is more innovation in jets, some of the fastest cars on earth and space shuttles, than there is in a cup of coffee.

Nintendo wii: motion sensor? damn, that's revolutionary
Apple: .....

I suppose that people choose to define innovation as they please, not caring about what else there is that they haven't heard of

Super thin: they pull a bunch of components out to make a really small laptop? That sounds like an asus EEE! (the point, should you have missed it: a different configuration of existing hardware is hardly innovation, even if they are the first to throw a party for it)

ipod phone: unless if it's capable of something more than playing music on a phone, there are lots of competitors for it.

ipod touch: touch screens are not new either.
