chances are, <--- You said a lot with those two words. This isn't a lifestyle that is just being created on a whim. It's their right and choice to live how they want. Comparing drug addicts to something you know very little about is just plain ignorant. You should take some time and really consider how you think about other people. Different is not a preamble to crazy.

I know what you're saying, but I'm suggesting that believing in a cult is typically a sickness of the mind.  The Amish are different from most, however.

Some people turn to that lifestyle because they have had it with the modern world. I don't think going back to living a basic life is crazy. I certainly don't think that automatically makes me a pedophile.

I suppose a median would be to have regular unscheduled visits from DCF. Although I still think this is encroaching on parental rights in a way .

That's a scary road you'd go down.  Like ATG said in another thread:  How long until something you hold dear is deemed 'wrong'?

Are you kidding?  They already disapprove of my ethics.  This is why my stance on this isn't being carried out.
