Me and Panzer were discussing on Xfire about ocing, so I thought I'd go make a thread in the spirit of the ghetto mod thread.

Just post overclocks you've made, preferrably in this format:

CPU: Pentium 4 630
Stock speed/FSB/Multiplier: 3.00GHz/800/15x (Quad-pumped)
Overclocked speed/FSB/Multiplier: 4.20GHz/1200/14x
Stock VCore: 1.3v
Overclocked VCore: 1.6v
Cooler: CoolerMaster GeminII
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3

Code:

CPU:
Stock/FSB/x:
OC'd/FSB/x:
Stock VCore:
OC'd VCore:
Cooler:
Motherboard:
We should stick to CPUs in this thread.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I prefer a little bit slower bus speed with tighter ram timings, I'm using 4-4-4-12 on my system right now, default was 5-5-5-15. Instead my 800MHz RAM is running at 760MHz

Meh, I could get it up to 800MHz again if I raise my core to 400x9 instead of 380x9, then it would be 1:1

But I still haven't managed to do that without making my system unstable.

And actually, 760MHz is the fastest that I can get at a 380, since my system won't let me set the multiplier to anything between 2 and 2.4, and 2.4 gives me a RAM BUS speed of 912 which equals CMOS reset for me.

Stop e-bullying sydney, he's right on this one tbh.

A lot of pc6400 sticks can hit 1066+mhz on suckass timings (5-5-5-15). The performance difference from higher ram frequency is negligible in real world apps (ie not synthetic read/write benchmarks) imo and in the opinion of some sites: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/toms-ulti … 48-15.html
