A titan used properly can be a huge logistical help with large alliances, a couple of alliances have shitfit titans that they keep in lowsec used only for bridging freighters ect closer to their space (or to another bridge titan) The: Jump > F1 (dd) > Warpthefuckout use that titans get currently is only a small part of their greater use in 0.0
The DD itself is not flawed, it was introduced as a blob stopping mechanic. What is flawed is the fact a Titan pilot with nomads (pirate agility implants) and an agility fit (3x Inertia Stabs + 1 Low friction Nozzle II rig) can align and warp out in 18 seconds, that is less than a plate fitted battleship. And after the lag + invulnerability bug of a titan jumping in and dd'ing there is very little time to either get a dictor close or a heavy dictor get a lock on the titan before it warps off. The obvious answer to that would be make the titan immobile after dd'ing but ccp seem to have missed that.
