The answer is nobody because the US are pretty impotent and have decimated their relationships with traditional allies over the past 10 years.

That and the fact they intend to be de facto rulers of Iraq for 'the next 100 years'.

True.  But that's not the question.

WHO should we fight next IS the question.

And frankly, i wish we were lest capitalistic pigs and kept all our our wealth and product within our country, and maybe Canada.  Keep private, keep prepared and stocked up for whatever comes.  Have lots of submarines patrolling the rest of the world and demonstrate their wrath now and then to keep everyone in the loop. lol

lol, i love when people say "Iran would be easy."  Are you talking about invading and occupying and having even minimal control over Iran or it's major cities?   If so, you are seriously fooled.
Nope, we're talking about bombing it back to the stone age.
Hmmm, with lots of MOABs nonetheless? lol

So tell me, how many bombs do you think we have?  And how small do you think Iran is?  And how likely are the Iranian's military to be prepared for our super duper jdams and other penetrating munitions?  And how likely is it their AA networks have redundancies?  And oh yeah, how small do you think Iran is?

So we drop our 20 MOABs on Tehran...big woop.  Then a thousand tomahawks, a few more thousand jdams into schools and hospitals (we don't exactly use human intel anymore for target confirmations), and a few more tens of thousands of 500lb bombs from stealth aircraft, which for the first time, amazingly start getting shot down as we realize we're not as badass as we think! lol

IRAN = not your average towel heads
Just what do you base your assessment upon?

Pardon me if I go with something a bit more detailed than TV and 30-odd year dated experience.

If you're asking who we're most likely to attack next, I'd say Iran.  If you're asking who is the most dangerous, I'd say Pakistan.

If you're asking who I would choose to fight next....  I'd say no one.

One post is "stalking you"? Get over yourself.

1. Iran has no modern long-range SAMs.
2. Iran's IADS is essentially the same as Iraq's was (Russian)...and it's old as fuck.
3. Iran is buying new AD equipment, but it'll be years before it's even close to IOC.
4. Iran's training is shit, like in most ME countries. Cultural aspects prevent critical debrief, which prevents effective learning and tactics development.
5. Iran has no modern interceptors. Their most modern fighters are F-4s and F-14s. And all of their aircraft suffer from abysmal maintenance, so their mission capable rate is less than 50%.

So...to summarize:

POS equipment + POS training + POS maintenance = POS air defenses.

So, given the fact that Iran is weak, there's really no need to attack them, right?  We don't even need to worry about the nukes thing either.

Apart from Ahmanutjob and his cronies, Iran is a very modernized, westernized nation.

The conservative party banned all opposition candidates, and still lost seats in the parliamentary elections.  The Iranian people don't like the recent rollbacks on social freedoms, and feel (rightly so) that their government is going to get then obliterated.

I don't see Iran being a threat for very long, it has a large, youthful population, they won't stand for this old fashioned war mongering for long.

It seems like our government is often the last body to realize what is actually going on in the world,  especially now, hating the Iranians, but laughing it up with the Saudis and Pakistanis, who do have it out for us.

The Saudis bother me the most, because of Wahhabism.  That has to be most despicable form of Islam ever.  Any sect with that murderous sense of superiority is dangerous -- much like Nazism.

Saudi style government is truly deserving of the term "Islamofacism" but they have the black gold, so we keep our distance.

Indeed...  I'll be happy when we either move away from it or it simply goes away.  Then, we can let the Middle East kill itself for all I care.

Saudi Arabia is one of the primary reasons we should eliminate our infinite need for oil.

Watching their pathetic excuse for a government collapse without our money would be extremely gratifying.

Why does everyone seem to think that it's a foregone conclusion that Iran will be attacked?

IT'S NOT.

what will they do without oil money?  that's almost 100% of their economy, I'm predicting that that whole region will implode once we move from oil.

I'm getting my degree in chemical engineering, so I'll do my best to get that oil replacement ready!

then we can sit back and watch the fireworks
