Ok im theoretically building a halfpipe.

the height is 5 feet tall.

the rule of thumb is "however tall the ramp is, cut the radius two feet longer, so a 6 foot ramp gets an 8' transition radius. that way it doesnt quite hit vert, but it gets just close enough'


but i dont really understand that. how would you go about making a 7 foot transition radius. since the halfpipe i want to build will be 5 ft tall.

the arc of the ramp has to have the curve that a seven foot radius circle would have

You'd have to measure from several points along the ramp to ensure a uniform radius, and you'll be best off drawing a diagram of the thing (circle included) to get the right dimensions
