I play almost strictly sniper and I have good nights and I have bad nights. That's understandable. You have to have the right attitude and patience to do good and some nights it's just not there. But what I don't understand is how on a good night everything seems like a head shot in a round then the very next round I find myself having to shoot 2 and 3 times for a kill. And I'm refering to the same map and same weapon.

So where am I going? What's the possibility that there is a base accuracy and deviation assigned every time you enter a round. Say the hit equation has a multiplier of 1 in it. At the beginning of a round this is randomly assigned a value of .8 to 1.2.  So, some games you can't hit anything and the next round you're saying damn, how did I hit him.

That's the only explanation I can come up with to explain some of my rounds. Comments?

Luck?! I mean once i was sniper and just shot into a driving vodnik which I could never hit. But because i dont care about my acc I just shot... --> Headshot.

So I suppose its luck.

i have this great-round-then-crap-round thing all the time. warlord is my fav sf map, and i like sniping on it - and yeah, the same things happens, same couple of favoured spots, same opponents who also gravitate towards the same spots... first round it's all *boom headshot*x25, second round it's all running out of ammo with only a couple of kill assists to my name... wtf? if your theory is true, i for one would certainly not be surprised.

I, too, play sniper a lot and find that this is a disturbingly accurate picture of what my sniping career is. I'm not quite sure why this occurs. Maybe it's karma

It's not just sniping, though. I've expierenced this with almost every weapon, altough it is most noticable with the sniper rifle. Another weapon that I experienced this with is the L85A1 (?first medic unlock). Sometimes it's insanely accurate, and other times I can't hit shit. I also noticed this with other weapons like the G36C and the support guns.

Maybe different times of the day your ping is higher so the shot calculation might lag a bit? I really have no idea, but I can definitely say Ive had my really good days AND my really bad days..

Maybe it´s just your ping...?
I know that´s just a matter of milliseconds, but i guess sometimes it might be the reason for a hit or a miss...

don't think it's ping, as mine stays low and stable, and what is being described is an overall tendency by round. if it was ping then it would shift during the round, according to the ping going up and down a bit here and there.
