God, I may have to dig my copy out and give it an outing myself. My 8MB broadband and even my ol' AthlonXP 3200+ and AGP X800XT PE should lap it up.
i used to run it on that, had a pretty smooth fps at 800 * 600, but i will NEVER run it on that card again, seeing the difference my new 8800 gtx makes. It makes the radeon renders look like pixelated line drawings...PBAsydney wrote:

Lol. I was on a 5200 on a 5 year old comp with .5Ghz of RAM and ran BF2...lowest settings, 800x600, but it ran OK. Just loooong load times.
Now I'm on a 7300 with 2.5Ghz and can run BF2 on full, and any new game I've tried, such as CoD4 and Bioshock, with respectable settings and smooth play.
Only one I really had probs with was the Crysis demo, and I don't think I'm alone there.
So what sort of games do you like?

Try source games (HL2, CSS etc..) on all low.

Sorry, but I smell bullcrap.
I ran it on a 5700 for close to a year and a half. Now have an 8800GT and can't see much of a difference in performance. Ok so I'm now running most things on high instead of low so it looks nicer, but there's no difference in playability.PBAsydney wrote:

Dumb people here, a high-end FX (5-series) card is way more powerful than a low-end 7-series, or even 8-series card.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity.
