tried that and browsed the whole help section and none of what is suggested works. only videos under 1 minute work which is really weird, the others just remain "loading"

How long have you waited while they say loading? Maybe you have slow internets and it is taking a while to download them.

i have waited a few minutes and still it has the loading circle, my internet speed is 2mb broadband so its a good speed for youtube.

Well that isn't the best of speeds, go to www.speedtest.net and post what it tells you, just because you are paying for 2mb doesn't mean that is what you are actually getting.

How long exactly is "a few minutes"?

i get 1930 kb which is just under 2mb.

i have left a tab with a video for 5-10 minutes and the video was under 5 minutes, yet it still remained on the spinning circle

What does Java have to do with YouTube? If anything it's flash (or javascript, but that shouldn't be an issue)

Hmm... my last suggestion is updating/reinstalling video card drivers and maybe downloading a codec pack, like ffdshow.

Flush your DNS, seems to work when I get similar issues.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
