Man, they better watch out. If they draw any cartoons of the flying spaghetti monster getting eaten, the Pastafarians might bomb an embassy or something.ZombieVampire! wrote:
There has only ever been one serious issue related to Islam, and it was the cartoons which were drawn up specifically to attack it.
Let's follow the steps:
1) You said let's needlessly antagonise them
2) I said let's not
3) You said they got angry and violent easily
4) I pointed out the only time they had gotten angry and violent was when they were needlessly antagonised
How does it matter that a religion that mocks itself wouldn't do the same thing? Is it unreasonable to respond to antagonism by being antagonised?

Why yes... yes it is. It is very unreasonable to respond aggressively to antagonism if the antagonist can kick your ass.ZombieVampire! wrote:

Why not just use a big stone obelisk for target practice
No, that makes it stupid, not unreasonable.
Explain the difference...ZombieVampire! wrote:

Unreasonable would be getting angry over something you shouldn't get angry over.
Stupid is getting into a fight you can't win.

Ok that works, but we can at least agree that them attacking us over a cartoon or one guy who shot their book is stupid.
I mean, don't get me wrong... I think the soldier was a dumbass too, but these people really need to grow up. If they keep acting like animals, we're just gonna have to keep killing the ones that attack us.

Can't understand how you can compare these people to animals, when the bible belt of America is often just as religiously fanatical.Turquoise wrote:

Yes, they need to grow up says the country who invaded them over an old grudge........................
Speaking as an outside observer, the state of religion in the US seems to be pretty similar to the state of religion in the Middle East.

Oh, I think a lot of them are animals in their own special way. People the least like animals are the rational, less emotional types who tend to be secular, although atheism isn't a prerequisite. I've met some sensible religious people, but they just aren't numerous enough.TheAussieReaper wrote:

Almost, hence my disdain for religion in general. Oh, and you'll get no argument from me on the invasion. It's just that these people should understand that we could kill all of them if we really wanted to, but we choose not to, and acting crazy is how they show their gratitude.ZombieVampire! wrote:

What? You insult religion all the time.CameronPoe wrote:

I'm an atheist and I don't find someone urinating on the bible, farting on Buddhist scriptures, shooting at the Quran or shitting on the Torah in the least bit enjoyable. It's playground nonsense - not what one would expect of an adult. Your view on this really is quite moronic, uncultured, immature, vacuous, senseless and repugnant. Insulting people simply for the sake of insulting people is not clever, it's not big and it's not 'the grown up thing to do'.
Quite frankly I'm surprised at how many people didn't think it was funny.
Yes, but that's because he feels it's ridiculous. He also insults a number of other groups all the time. That's kind of what an argument is.
Yes, they should be so grateful that all you do is plunge their nation into chaosTurquoise wrote:

We're not doing the suicide bombings. They are. If the neighbors decide to make a mess of Iraq, that's their fault, not ours.ZombieVampire! wrote:

Yes, how could it be blamed on you?
All you did is invade for no reason, posing a threat to neighbours and destroying a harsh but predictable, and stable government. And then you decided, out of the goodness of your hearts, to not slaughter them like cattle and defecate on their remains. If only everybody could be like you.

Turquoise, were you wrapped around the US flag when you typed that?

Where you observing from ? And which americans..
The US generally seems very similar to the ME generally.
It's wonderful, isn't it? Beautiful in a twisted sort of way....ZombieVampire! wrote:

The thing is... Invading Iraq was one of the dumbest things we've done. Staying in Iraq at this point doesn't make much sense either.
However, as long as we're there, you'd think they'd at least try to help us rebuild things. Instead, the neighbors (namely Iran and Saudi Arabia) have decided to send insurgents in. It's not very nice of them to do that, and it shows you how much they love their Islamic brethren.
But it's really not that surprising if you look at their religion. Mohammed was a warlord. They spread their faith mostly through conquest. Now, obviously, other religions have done this too, but the difference is that Christianity has evolved some. Islam, at least in the Middle East, seems mostly primitive and barbaric.
So, if anything, our brutish methods should really be something they're at home with. I mean, when they're not fighting us, they fight each other and the Israelis. All in all, these people aren't particularly desirable to be around. So we have to adapt to things a bit by returning the aggression. We need to continue reminding them of who the alpha dog is. All this political correctness doesn't seem to be doing much when you consider how they always revert back to their primal instincts when a simple book is "desecrated." Allah forbid another cartoon is distributed.
They act like a combination between children and animals, so it's hard to know exactly how to deal with them. Dominance is about the only thing that comes to mind.
Nope... I'm not patriotic at all. I find patriotism sickening, about as much as I do religion. I just don't care much for the annoying Iraqis we're stuck babysitting. I wish we'd just leave them to the cesspool their country is, but apparently, that's not in the plan.TheAussieReaper wrote:

Right, so the bible belt should be rioting after every episode of family guy/south park that intentionally antagonizes Christianity.TheAussieReaper wrote:

Or maybe it shows just how aggressive the invasion looked. Look at it this way: if Russia invaded Canada and won, would the US help them rebuild?Turquoise wrote:

Oh, right, I forgot, Arabs are inherently aggressive and their actions have nothing to do with years of attacks from the WestTurqoise wrote:

Yes.........and?
Do you want to go into what Christians have done in the name religion (we'll start with the Crusades, shall we?)?
