I'm looking at buying an external HDD, found a Western Digital 500GB for £58.00.

Is this anygood? Any reason not to go for it? Are there better HDD's out there?

Only gonna be using it for media files, movies, music, etc.

there are always better products, but if it fits your needs and your budget, go for it.

WD is a good hard drive company, so i wouldnt see any problems.

I have a 250GB Western Digital hard drive for over a year now.  I've had no problems with it so far and would buy again with no hesitation.

I have a 500GB My Book-very satisfied. Go with E-SATA if your mobo has it.
forgot to mention-its a WD drive. I have 4 WDs and they all work flawlessly.

Looks good.  I payed $100 for my 500GB Cavalry external HD, so the price looks about right too.
