The reason I don't do this is because if it becomes a weekly thing, people will just say "i can't come this week but will come next" and in the end you get at max about 5 people attending at a time - compared to 25 whenever it is a one off, albeit almost common event.

Also, Saturdays aren't very good days. I had a poll on this a while back and it concluded that many people were out because it was evening in the UK, and afternoon in the states. It really only suited those more easterly due to timezones. That's why I made my events on a Sunday - a lot more people are free then and you generally get a nicer turn out. You might get like 15 people to turn out, but I guarantee that in a month you'll be lucky if you get 5. It isn't because of your hosting, but solely because of what I said above.
