From BIOS I turn my multiplier up by .5 to make my cpu 2.4GHz instead of 2.3GHz. This was going to be the beginning of a overclock journey, and it started smoothly. Ran cpu stress test for an hour and it passed easily. then i ran css for about 2hours and came of it...still fine. then I leave it idle for about 15 minutes, come back and open a thread on bf2s and DUMPH...blue screen OMFG. i was so angry that i barely took notice to what the message said however it definately said something about clock frequency...i didnt even change the clock frequency.
WHY?!

That issue is the TLB bug of the B2 phenoms. Install the BIOS fix.

and btw before this goes completely of topic can someone conform its just a bios thing...and wer i can get the update

Because you had baals to admit the situation with Phenoms...

Get the latest BIOS from here and flash it. Then change this to disabled: . AMD CPU Errata 309.

edit: or was it enabled... anyway...

It could be your ram is clocked too high, that happened to me. Ran every cpu stress test available with no errors. Opened up bf2/photoshop/internet...CRASH.

spent ages looking for errata 309... the only thing i can find which has anything to do with errata in the bios is

'Phenom TLB Patch' its got three settings...auto, enabled and disabled and its default is auto...is that it??

Lol. First off, Intel is generally better. This isn't a 360-PS3 thing where it's a decision on which is more enjoyable for you, it's for the specs of it, and almost all Core 2's beat the Phenom's.

Plus, saying that we never talk about the "joys of blue screens" is such an assinine thing to say. I've never gotten a blue screen of death on my rig and I have an older Core 2, the E6600. You remind me of the PS3 fanboys who always say "have fun with your RRoD"....which is funny because I've had mine for over 1 1/2 years and not gotten the RRoD once.
