My spec:

Vista Home Premium
Coolermaster CM-690
4GB Dual Channel
Barracuda 500GB SATA-II
Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS5
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB
OCZ GameXStream 600w
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 LGA775
Freecom 400GB external HDD
5.1 Surround sound
Acer 22" wide + Samsung 19"
Logitech G15
I have updated to the latest bios, before and after when i would enable manual setting to change the CPU speed it will restart and then turn off, then on and restore the old settings? I have changed the memory speed from 5-5-5-18 to 5-5-5-15 and it accepted that.
The CPU cooler is running at full ( beucase it can)
Even changing from 335 to 338 mhz (2.53 ghz_) it does it, that is the heigest i have done.

Any advice?

And yes i am aware of what overclocking can do.

bump your v-core up a little i would guess, wait till its confirmed by a pro mind you, this is why mine wouldnt overclock when a similar thing happened to me

put your ram timings back to at first stock.

what cooler you'll be using?

I dout upping the vcore will help, the fact that 3 mhz woundt make it become unstable ??
Sorry thought i put that, Freezer7pro

put set following settings in BIOS:

NB  =  1.31V
CPU vcore = 1.325V
RAM = 2.0V

so I put the cpu voltage core up to 1.32500v

put the DDR2 over voltage to +0.2v

Correct ?

second whats NB lol.

also the tomshardware guide sayss to put the memory frequancy lower than it is? the reccomded is 800 and mine is on 814?

Also CIA 2 is disabled and perofmanch is set to standard

DDR2 overvolt to 0.2V, yes.
cpu vcore 1.32500v, yes.

NB is north bridge.

814 will be just fine for the ram. just use the stock latencies at first.

After you've changed the settings press f11 and save your config into a slot and name it. Then f10 out and say yes to save again.

Leave your memory timings at stock for now, up your voltages a little. Check your ram multiplier and ensure that it's not running at some insane frequency.

Thanks to GC_PaNzerFIN got it working, My ram needed 2.1v when not overclocked so trying to put 1.8 v of ram overclocked didnt work.

It works now. Cheers.
