i was wondering...im gonna buy a new computer after the booster pack comes out...but im going to install it on my existing machine first...can i download it for free after on my new computer?
Anyone who bitches about the $10 cost for this needs a smack in the mouth. What other entertainment can you get with such a low cost per hour? I had ~176 hours in BF2, for the $50 purchase price that's less than 30 cents per hour from the bf2s stats!
I would gladly buy a new booster pack a month, it's still cheaper than what people I know who play WoW have to shell out! (~$15 a month, and pretty buggy as hell too..)

patch fixes look nice, especially the GL fixes and the fact that you can pick up somebody else's explosives ( including claymores and C4 ).

I think it is credit cards only. Real shame, if you ask me. I love hard copies and mistrust any online buy system. then again, I we pushed EA into printing CD's, covers, manuals and stuff, we would most likely have to pay considerably more than just a couple of Euros.

i would rather BUY a hardcopy (If euro force and armoured fury where on SAME CD) instead of DLing it.. i buyed SF and i ever hardly play it because its too unbalanced .. specially vs SEALs.
so i hope this ones goes better.. no info that they may put bth updates on ONE CD in march? as a hardcopy version?

Yeah well they didnt really use much brain power to work out the simple fact of Not everyone has a Credit card did they i for one dont have one and not intending on getting on so if they dont release it on hard copy in stores i wont be getting it.
Which is a shame as i like the look of the AI L96AW but i still would of prefered the SSG-3000 its a much better rifle i think one thing it doesnt have the hollow stock crap (but that doesnt matter in the game lol)

well the sniper and AT unlock are fro free when u DL the 1.2 patch... u dont need to have euro forces installed for the AT and sniper unlocks (the new ones ) thx god.

The new sniper rifle is bolt action? Are they gonna give the MEC access to a british sniper rifle? I'd assume 10-12 in the clip. Any thoughts? On second thought look for a thread concerning this.

Yes, you can re-download anything that you have purchased. Once downloaded the installation files are extracted into another directory (and thent he installation process begins). This is a good and bad thing. It is bad because the installation files are kept on your computer (this means 1+ gig for Special Forces in my case). The good thing is that you can also burn the installation files to a disc for later installation so you don't need to redownload (and then you can also delete the installation files from your computer).=RDG=[N.B]canadiannnn wrote:

As for Debit Cards, many/most/all allow you to use them as you would a credit card. Yes, there are many of you out there that may not have access to a credit card or an ATM card. If the sales of the booster packs is significantly affected by this, I'm sure EA will make it available retail, but maybe at a slightly higher cost. They are a business and their objective (like every business) is to make money.
Online distribusion significantly reduces their cost of production and allows them to sell the games for a lower price which, ironically, makes them more money. The lower production cost increases the profit margin and the lower cost increases the number of sales.

So you see, just because BF2 (pc) is more popular than the Xbox version we have the shell out for the booster. The Xbox version is less popular and the marketing boys use the booster to increase sales.
So let's all stop buying the EA shit and they will value us for it, it seems.

"Armored Fury will be released on March 28th and the focus is on large mechanized battles, harking back to the El Alamein style maps on BF1942. There will be 3 new maps – “Midnight Sun”, “Operation Harvest” and “Operation Road Rage” – but also 2 new vehicle classes. Attack Jets and Recon Helicopters, which can spot nearby enemy units, will make their debut."

Kung Jew is right, but ResDog1 is partially right also... There is indeed a free booster available for the xbox version of BF: Modern Combat. "Warsome" is a free download available on xbox live, and it does indeed suck shit that they get it free while we have to pay.
Isn't the xBox live stuff a subscription only service? You have to have broadband internet service and then pay extra to get xBox live right? That is probably why the xBox gets expansions for 'free'. EA or whoever gets a cut of that money to give out the expansion.Sahasrahla wrote:

If the booster requires a different server or something that will definately suck. I have been less than impressed with SF to date and adding yet one more thing that has to be exited out of to play a very small map rotation will not impress me at all. And getting offed by the expansion pack weapons while playing normal BF2 will annoy me even more if you need to have a different server to play the maps.
I've been wondering about this as well. Calling it a "Booster pack" makes it sound like it would just work with the regular BF2. However, how do you handle the fact that some people have it and some don't? I hope they don't do it like SF where there are different servers just for the booster pack and you have to boot the game differently. Sure there are plenty of such players out there who spend all their time doing these things, but none of these things are bad in themselves. People who don't whore these features can benefit greatly from them. I don't like that EA is simply eliminating good legitimate features.

in the gamespy interview they posted it answers a few questions, but the main one is the the booster packs are going to be an add on to both BF2 and SF. However if you dont have the booster installed it doesnt matter you can still play on the same server as someone who does.
Don't know this is going to work on map roation though.....
