Ok here's the deal: E6600 stable on 3ghz with standard voltage.

But what about the ram? As I'm overclocking the FSB:RAM is changing all the time, and my question is: what is faster?
I have pc6400, 800mhz ram(1.8V).

RAM:FSB  = 1:1
mem speed = 667 mhz

or

RAM:FSB = 5:4
mem speed = 833mhz

or

RAM:FSB=10:8 (lol)
mem speed = ~800mhz

All these speeds are with 1.8V (standard). Now if I want to overclock the memory too, how much should I increase the mem voltage? (I can choose out of steps of +0.1V)

will update post with a pic of my bios options soon.

that plus tight latencies. (at least 5,5,5,15) and 2.0V as voltage.

ok will reboot now and adjust the settings .

this would be the fastest right? :
CPU on 3.6ghz
ram:fsb 1:1
mem 800mhz

altough I doubt that my blue orb can handle the heat. What voltage would 3.6ghz require on an E6600?

I have 4GB of OCZ Nvidia SLI Edition and actually, I also don't have any idea on how to OC RAM but I went into my BIOS and I could choose

OC 5%
OC 10%
OC 15%
OC 25%
OC MAX

I chose OC MAX and now it's running at 4.08v

that would be good. I would keep stock latencies for the ram when doing that high FSB OC. And 2.0V for ram should be fine too.
I think 3.6ghz might need quite a lot voltage tho. 3.5ghz on the other hand should be stable at decent voltages. (my E6750 needed a lot voltage at 3.6ghz).
I would try about 1.425V for 3.5ghz. if not stable and temps are not too bad, a bit more might be needed.

stock votlage for you ram is around 2.1-2.2V. If your ram really did run at 4.0V, It would have died a long time ago lol.

Ok here's an update:

FSB:RAM = 4:5
mem speed = 833mhz
voltage = 2.0V

lol wtf!? Everest says DRAM:fsb = 10:8
CPU-z says FSB:DRAM = 4:5

which one do I believe?

edit2: ram latencies are on stock: 5-5-5-15

I would trust the cpu-z. Do you have the latest version of it? anyway BIOS won't lie. If you have 4:5 in there 4:5 it is.

If you look closely, they say exactly the same thing.
Everest has just multiplied the values by 2, and swicthed them around.

Well actually I can't select FSB:RAM in the bios, I can choose out of value's  of like "2.4" "2.5" and then "3.00" (no 2.6 and 2.7 etc :S). I'll take a picture.

Running on 3.2 GHZ now with a little voltage increase, orthos is on for 10 mins now, temp not going any higer than 60C.

Can I just ignore the voltage message? I'm running stable so I don't understand why it says it's not optimized .

I have my E6600 on 3.5GHz 1.5 vcore. Stays below 60°C on load.

I just can't seem to make 3.6, can't get it stable no matter how much vcore I add, and it gets HOT, 100mhz just isn't worth it.

I have my RAM on 2x multiplier, my FSB is 389, so my DRAM is 778, 1:1 ratio

Come to think about it, I can't get my ratio to anything else than 1:1, it just downclocks or overclocks the RAM to match the ratio...

My timings are 4-4-4-12 on CL5 RAM, +0.3V on DDR2, justifies the downclock of the RAM bus.

lol bsod, I upped the vcore with 0.01V. 3200MHz. running orthos again now.

edit: another BSOD, running on 1.38125V now with orthos. Damn 3200mhz is a bitch to get stable . 1.35 is tha standard voltage, when does it get dangerous?

for 24/7 use I would stay under 1.5V. until you hit that the limit is your cooling

Mine is 1.5v and it idles at around 40°C with my fans set on minimum, goes down under 30°C with the 50CFM 92mm fan blowing full throttle inside the heatsink.

Never goes above 60°C on load.

What are the safe temperatures for en E6600? <70C on load?? It's on 63-64C with orthos now .

I would stay about there, under 70C stress (with prime95 or orthos) for 65nm dual cores

60-64C, 3200ghz with 1.4V. Orthos running stable for 10 mins now. I'm going to do a bit of studying for school now, I'll leave orthos running

edit: still running and stable on 17mins. How long should I run orthos?
