Battlefield Heroes is free to download... and then you can improve your characters skills, weapons and appearance etc by spending little bits of REAL money. I guess this is where the money is made.. and I dont begrudge people making money out of games... I would probably spend a little if I looked dope and had a bigger gun than you. The alternative is in-game advertising which depends on the setting for its suitability. I dunno if you guys visit the gaming industry websites but the word on the street is that all the games are gonna be free someday soon.. and then supported like this.

Shite. I am so disappointed.
I won't play this game.
You skill increases by spending money? Personally I enjoy getting better by practice. Way to piss of 99% of gamers.
Why didn't they make another dx10 version of battlefield and use all that technology instead of cartoons.

1. It would be full of glitches
2. They would not fix the glitches
3. It would cost them a lot of money.
If this happens the game will suck ass.

Everyone just do a gentlemans agreement not to purchase stuff. Then people who do can be looked down upon. Even have no purchase weapon servers were the rich get banned.
Or just don't get it.
Or just don't get it.
I prefer to pay my game and to have the same character skills and weapons than other people.
I honestly do not know what to do with game. I will 100% definitely download it.
However to actually pay to be a better player than everyone else, that is just like downloading a hax IMO.
If the total amount of upgrades to may your character better are less than or equal to a normal game (£30ish) I may just buy them all in one go. So it would effectively be like buying a game.

Should have read the options - I might spend $10, but would expect to still be on the same level as others. I don't want it making a huge difference - I don't like games that do that. I'll play it though.

Bf2 is the last time I will spend 50$ towards Ea.
Eh - EA is getting pretty decent, tbh. They're being forced into being innovative - kinda like MS.The#1Spot wrote:

It's pretty sad that you have to buy skill and talent instead of just playing the game to earn it...
It's nothing new. Look at politics.mtb0minime wrote:

Won't be dling/playing it though; seems like utter crap not only because it's from EA.Gamers will be able to buy items which customise their appearance in the world, but will not be able to seek an advantage through buying weapons.
The idea behind the game is making something with decent graphics that anyone can play, and is thus not exclusive to those people with really high end computers. I quote "you can play this game on your grandmother's computer".Mugen wrote:

It's supposed to bring more people together. Personally, I think it's a great idea.

It's serious and worth the debate... where the fuck should it be?MetaL* wrote:

god I hate people like you. You kill, send offtopic and generally ruin forums.
Let's just say it's not the kind of topic we're used to in D&ST. We usually have them under game discussion.fo0k wrote:

it might have gotten more responses in tech.....just a thought.fo0k wrote:

well, our hearts leap with joy at the thought of your contributions.fo0k wrote:

The response was fine... it has nothing to do with tech and everything to do with how games are changing... in a big way... Heroes provoked the question and also the figures that EA only recieved money for 15% of all Crysis copies sold due to piracy.. this new method of 'delivering games' to consumers will change how we obtain games.. torrenting becomes pointless..
If its free to download.. and if I like it I can spend money, then its seems like a good thing... but its impossible to know if it will actually work.

I think what they're trying to say is that D&ST typically has more to do with heavier issues than game delivery systems: that is, many of the people interested in this would tend to frequent other forums.
i can see D&ST isnt going to be your strong point, so lets just say that you would probably get more responses in a section WHERE PEOPLE GIVE A FUCK ABOUT GAMES.fo0k wrote:

fairly simple, but do what you want...if you want people to actually be interested, it might be better off in tech
You do know this is a forum centered around a game?
Cool it, dude.

I'd go for "Other Titles", really. TBH, it doesn't really matter where it goes, as most people just keep refreshing the new posts page.Parker wrote:
