Hell, OB isn't even President and he's all ready sounding dumber that W.

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/05/21/ba … e-machine/

I know a few will balk at the source and I'm fine with that for nothing would change your minds anyways.

But why is Obama virtually held unaccountable for what he spews?  If a Republican canidate were to say these kinds of things you'd never hear the end of it.

Obama's a pretty smart guy, but he needs to stop the improv routine.  He isn't as polished as the other candidates.

I agree with you 100% DBBrinson1.  The only other place I have seen any mention of his slips of the tongue was on Fox news and it might have even been Michelle Malkin who was on at the time, I don't remember.  The rest of the media has already decided that the day Obama gets elected the worlds problems are solved, so he says one thing they hear another.

We had a conservative in the white house for the last 8 years? Where?

You guys have four year presidential terms, yes? Bush got elected for two terms, yes? You're currently beginning the process of beginning election campaigns for the next president, yes? When that new president is elected the previous one will have served 8 years in the white house, yes?

Jeez...You had a conservative in for 7 years and 5 months...there, happy?

Conservative in terms of the label...not necessarily in terms of actions. Labels don't really reflect reality in politics today. Just look at Britain where the left and the right have effectively switched sides.

If I had just said Republican in my initial post it would have been a lot simpler...slaps forehead!

I think this is the reason why Clinton's still hanging around.  She's a little bit better at speaking...seems a little more polished.

No.. Maybe one or two errs, but I refuse to buy in and drink the blue kool-aid.  Politicians get hung out to dry on what they say.  Why is Obama held to a different standard?

Hell, remember this?

By all means, because I'm sure you'll do it ethically and honestly adding context like any good neocon hater would do! lol

But seriously, Obama is the king of Gaffes?  Please!  I've been reading through all the miscontexted quotes (from both sides) on their enemy candidates for the last several months and it's obvious NOBODY is honest about their reportings...espeically as you get off into the fringes like from Malkin/Coulter/Limbaugh/Hannity and obviously to the other side like Huffington/C&L/Moore/Code Pink, etc.

Do us a favor and look for VIDEO of some of the claimed Obama gaffes.  Be honest for a moment, review the video.  Make note of the topic, the body language, the preceding question, the tone of voice, and obviously the context of the speech.  We've all seen spliced and misquoted comments from every noteworthy person...and it's fun to do.  But it's not fun when it's replacing honest reality and wrongly disparaging people.

But I doubt you can be that honest.  YOu probably think Michelle Obama actually didn't like the USA until she made her comment that she did, right?  And you probably still think Obama is or was muslim, right?  And Obama is unpatriotic because he doesn't wear flag lapel pins, eh?

I get ya Pug and I agree too, but...  Look at the bias.  The media is wearing some pretty rosy shades every time Obama is involved.

And tell me how his wife is "off limits"?  She's spewing his crap, hell I want to know what Mrs. Obama meant when she said, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country."  How sad.  I doubt Mrs. Bush said shit like that... However, didn't the left come after her for the traffic accident she was in which resulted in a fatality?

Huh, Thought you didn't go to the link.... But since you obviously did, heres a link to his 57 states...

Sorry man, not a mistake a President hopeful ever should make.  He flat missed it.  I learned that shit in pre-K.  And don't try media stress BS, it isn't like he was asked to recite Pi to the 57th place.

Hell, I'm not gonna speculate what Michelle meant, she's the one who said it, how many other ways do you take "FOR THE FIRST TIME" as?

Love the attack rabid neocon bigot angle you go for at the end, and I thought you to be less of a prejudiced tolerant person.  But no, I pretty much pegged Obama as a closet racist after the RELATIONSHIP with his pastor was made public. Fun fact -> Did you know that MLK was a Republican?  And no, I never thought Obama unpatriotic because he doesn't wear a flag pin... I've know that emperor has had no clothes for quite some time now.

wow, you're seriously bent without a chance of being honest.

57 states?  Wasn't there a thread here pretty much destroying that idea that he really couldn't possibly think there was 57 states?  And guess what, WHAT IF he actually made that mistake?

But you, with your obvious bias, see that and without applying ANY honesty whatsoever, automatically assume he meant it, and if he doesn't really know there's 50 states, must not know anything else about this country.  Am I right?  Is that pretty much how it went?

And of course you heard Obama say he has a closet relationship with his pastor..you somehow know that and therefore Obama is a racist?  Please.

ALso, your sig is a lie..you're misquoting/punctuating it to make it look deliberate, defined, and absolutely without a doubt that he says there's only 57 states....yet when you see the video, you can see his stutter, change of thought process, etc.  But no, that'd be an honest mistake, and Obama is the devil! lol  By the way, did you see his interview sometime after responding to the "gaffe spotters" accusation that he thinks there's 57 states?  Of course not..that'd imply that maybe he was not truly thinking there was 57 states.

And your bent on Obama.  Keep making up excuse for him, but I won't play your game.  I value our country too much.

Applying honesty?  Please.  Since when was Obama honest about his pastor?

57 states vs honest mistake?  I dunno, I wasn't in his head, I only heard what he said and it was 57, not 47.
Since you seem to be missing my point...  The media is totally blowing this guy... And so are you.

You say Potato, I say potato - just for gods sake don't put the "e" on the end right *wink *wink...

I'm objective.  If I see something of value that Obama is reported to have or not have, I verify for myself where possible.  I would be a FOOL and a useless voter if I just took what the pundits say as gospel.  THis is why I'm challenging your claims...which appear to match perfectly with the pundits.

Being a true NON-PARTISAN here, and frequenting some popular 2A sites, believe me, I've heard plenty of bashing on Obama...95% of it is simply trash regurgitated from the pundits who's job it is to sensationalize, lie, and do whatever it takes to win public opinion...or they're off the air.  I've read and seen ALL the content from Obama's list that I could find regarding his positions on gun rights.  What I end up with is that he could go either way.  I don't pick the easy, convenient, partisan route of just taking the few occasions where he was misquoted, quoted out of context, or answered opinions that reflected a small demographic's take on gun rights like so many people like to do.  And even if he truly said  and meant that he doesn't want people to own guns, and then said a month later he does respect our right to own guns...i wouldn't just pick his first statement and be settled on it...at best, I'd say that's an undecided topic...and move on to other important issues.

Believe me, if there's something actually harmful about electing Obama, something that outweighs the disaster McCain will be, then hell yes, I will refrain from voting.  I believe any honest, true American should do that.  But it's going to take alot more than lapel pins, a pastor, a wife's out of context remarks, and most crap coming from pundits to make me believe he's bad.  And guess what?  If he did actually think there was 57 states that moment, should I REALLY hold it against him?  Especially after he laughed at that remark and didn't dignify that "accusation" with a response.
