I uninstalled AVG 7, rebooted, then installed AVG 8. Now every time I turn on my computer a little ballon pops up on the task bar and says "AVG reports that it is turned off." I would turn off this notification by selecting "I have an AV program that I'll monitor myself" but that shows up in Spybot as a registry entry that needs fixing. It's no serious problem for me, but it is annoying. Anyone know of a way to solidly fix this? I've had this problem in the past and it eventually disappeared.
I had this problem, then I re-installed AVG 8.0, oh and Spybot didnt like it so i removed spybot
It told me that the Updating thing was turned off earlier today, but then I installed some automatic updates and it works fine
You didn't have to uninstall AVG 7.0. When you tried to download 8.0, it automatically would uninstall 7.0....at least it did for me and I haven't had any problems.
That's what I did originally. Then the problem occured so I uninstalled the whole thing.killer21 wrote:
