I recently bought a WD 500GB sata drive from newegg and when I tried to do the initial format it gave me block errors.

I requested an RMA and have it all packed up and ready to ship.

My question is will it matter that I do not have the original bag it came in?

It did not come in a box and did not have any cables or manuals ect
just had a little sealed bag.

do you guys think it will make any difference to them that it does not have that bag when I return it?

thank you for any replies.

I dunno if they consider the bag (is it that silver bag with silica gel beads in it?) a part of the packaging, but I guess you could ask them/return it anyway and see if they take it.

As the drive itself is defective by the sounds of it, i dount they're bothered as they cant really re-sell it. Even if they want to its only a little bag, which im sure they have millions of. So doubt its important.
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
