We've been hit hard today and it's going to be even worse on monday. Today was 93, tomorow is 91 and monday = 98. And to think on friday it was 60 during the day.

Anyone else anywhere in America (or in the world) getting hit REALLY hard by a heat wave?

Psh, you call that a heat wave. But with humidity, I see how it sucks.

That's exactly what makes it horrible. Dry heat is bad, but heat with humidity is unbearable. The air is like soup when it gets bad here, especially considering we're surrounded by water.

Welcome to Canada. With the humidity, it's over 100F for a few days this week.

Yup 93 here today. I spent the entire day in the sun breaking stucco off my house, needed to redo it as the contractor fucked up big time.

I thought your climate was rather dry though? I live in a valley and while it gets windy, and while its large, round 800,000 square miles, the summers are extremely humid. We tend to have the hot air blow in from the South and just sit here.

lol. Parts of South Australia and Northern Territory have been in a drought for months now due to no rain and constant heat. Your +150% humidity doesn't stand for much.

One of Australia's major Rivers, is about to dry up (and has in certain parts). Farmers are closing up shop because there is no water for them to keep their crops alive. Australia is also in Category 5 Water Restrictions (the highest level) because we are in dire need of water preservation.

LOL 36 C in the middle of summer is a heatwave?

It's like, 26 C here in the middle of winter, and everyone is rugged up in jumpers with the heater on.
