I should point out that I'm an American and football is more of a morbid interest and I am still learning the game. But I had two Aussies who live the game confirm my opinion that it was dodgy. Fucking ref.

Tbh I was expecting more from Croatia considering they kicked ass in the qualifiers. If they play like that they wont get far. And "ze Germans" are awesome.
Where did you watch the game? I was in the "Fan Zone" at Rathaus and it was crazy. About 50.000 people and twice as many Croatian fans than Austrian. I heard on the news that about 60.000 of them Croats came to Vienna. Since I speak Croatian I had a blast screwing around with them

I was over at Billabong (Australian pub on Parkring). The football fans have destroyed Graben and Stefansplatz, though. Trash and shit EVERYWHERE. Going to go and make pictures today. As well as Austria played, that should have been a draw. Pure and simple. If it wasn't for a BS ref call, that game would've been a draw. I hope that Austria beats the stuffing out of the Pollocks.

I am not saying the penalty itself was unfair. I am saying that the kick itself was. Shoulda been an indirect penalty kick. Ugh. To come so far as a team and then end up with a loss and not the draw. If Austria does not make it out of group stage, at least Hicke will lose his coaching job.
