Do you think there will be a significant difference between the standard PCI-E 16x Vs the 2.0? I currently have a standard 16x and was wondering if a new motherboard would be worth my while for the new card... Thanks!

I don't think so. Pci-e 2.0 is mostly related to power, your mobo can output through pci-e slot. Current pci-e 2.0 GFX cards achieve same performance results as the older pci-e 1.0.ReDevilJR wrote:

I was referring to my motherboard compatibility. As in, will my motherboard still run the newer cards at full capacity..Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Yes, current graphic cards do not saturate PCI-E 1.1 yet.

I would suggest to anyone who could wait, to hold off till August as thats when both manufacturers ranges for this gen will be out and we can make sensible comparisons. If though (like me) you need something by july, I would state that Nvidia will give you the braging rights, but the guys with the ATi cards will be sitting quietly smug with there purchases (again though this assumes the concencious of the community is correct).
Your choice(s). I think I will be going with a 4870 now, and possibly picking up a 4870X2 in August to run together in crossfire
