So I'm sitting here in Belize, I have 4 hours until we can get into our room and theres nothing to do (stepped off the Liveaboard a few hours ago)

So I've been reading Cyanide & Happiness and surfing BF2s and whatnot when this chic and her husband walks in the door, she stops at the door and says, "Wait, these are PC's, I cant use this... No way..."

Her hubby eases her in the door and trys to show her how to work Firefox, apparently she was trying to get to her email to read a word doc or something...

After about 3 minutes of bitching and moaning about PC's she says, "I cant use this, I can only use a Mac" and walks away

I mean, for fucks sake, I dont particularly like Macs but ill use them no problem, sure I may not know how to work it like a pro but I can still use it.

I mean how unwilling (should I say ignorant?) can you be to ONLY open yourself for a Mac in a freaking third world country. I mean the fact that the hotel offers a Internet Cafe for free to the guests is pretty damn amazing, but this chic wont even use the PC's in here. She will ONLY use a mac

anyone else ever see this crap? (Or vice versa, PC user wont use mac)

Also I wouldn't classify Belize as Third World, although I've never been there, I can't imagine it being as bad as some African countries.

If there is electricity, water and public computers, it isn't third world.

They are still installing the clean water pipelines.

The only problem I have with macs is the keyboard shortcuts I'm used to with copy/paste are slightly changed cause of the windows key not being there, instead you've got the apple logo further away (iirc) and the mouse wheel is ridiculously small combined with no way of knowing if your right clicking or left clicking cause the mouse buttons are in one piece.

Other than annoying peripherals there's not much difference that bugs me.

Third World Countries is being used here incorrectly. First world countries refer to the West - USA, GB, etc etc (non-commie). Second World is the Soviet Russia and all other nations influenced by them. Third world is any other nation that doesn't fall in either of these countries. What you're thinking of is "developing nation."
