Does anyone realise that when the file you are downloading reaches near 100percent, the speeds slow to a crawl? Pretty frustrating=/
That's because it can only download the last remaining pieces from the seeds you have.

You mean when there's like 8 pieces remaining?
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
Yeah, its pretty frustrating...Ayumiz wrote:

btw, make sure to download through a proxy... Ive had my service shut down twice (temp ban ftl.) ... the second time I got shut down I didnt notice Tor was running an error...
Sigh, i thought i could get it at the estimated time. Does that happen with you guys who have high speed connections as well?
I´ll complain when it costs me money, Yes happens with high speeds as well.
not really, my indy cam download is screaming through the tubes at nearly a megabyte a second. thank god i live in one of the areas in which comcast has huge competition and they just introduced a 16 mbit speed boost thing.

No discussing illegal downloads.
^^ For a mod to quote before closing this thread.
Anyway, the download slows since you'll be looking for another user with precisely those last few files.

Public trackers are like that, but if you're using a fast private tracker with people who like to share (read: good ratios), it's not an issue at all.
torrents themselves are not illegalBert10099 wrote:

A torrent can't split the remaining packets into any smaller pieces to be downloaded from more sources, so you get your bandwidth cut down to only the number of computers as you have packets left. Towards the very end it's less like a torrent and more like a direct download.
Yea, torrents aren't illegal. The US Army uses them to get their video game out. The only thing illegal is what you download ...
vvv
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Getting a high-quality spyware/excess free torrent client seems to all but completely eliminate the slowdown at the end. I had used bitcomet until recently, and had unstable downloading that sometimes never even started, including aforementioned problem. Utorrent for the last few weeks, havent noticed shit and it is over twice as fast.
well im downloading 2 things at 15 kb/s
they are both over 4 gig
get over it
512/128

Yeah, this happens to me too. It goes the other way too though. Once downloaded a 4GB file, which came in at ~30kb/s, then one night I got an amazing seeder, which I could download at 250kb/s+, and went from 50% in three days to 100% overnight.

Enable encryption in utorrent settings (or any other client) to prevent your isp knowing what your downloading.
Blackbelts are just whitebelts who have never quit.
uTorrent is automatically encrypted.

uTorrent is probably the best of the torrent runners, though. Runs in its own, self-contained EXE. No more, no less.
