Do you have any idea what it is like to have autism? Not likely, so you can't tell him that it's not scary at all, having autism means you don't like people touching you, so the thought of people being in your mouth must be terrifying for Kerry. Although I can't really relate to what you must be feeling, I can kind of imagine the dread.

Just take your mind off it, the only things I can think of are do stuff that you enjoy and don't think about it.

Hope it goes well, i'll be thinking of you!
Get a hot chick to fuck him, that'll get rid of his dislike of people touching him.
ffs.

Kerry, you'll be fine, don't worry I would recomend bringing an mp3 player and listen to some loud intruding music - you could even ask the doctors to let you listen to it as you're gassed.

Just don't be autistic that day and you won't have any problems.

P.S.  I don't really think you're autistic.

Do you eat through a tube? I had to get a tooth yanked out when I was in 2nd grade. The doctor numbed the general area and used a wrench to yank it out and I was not scared. Just deal with it since I doubt anyone in here is a psychologist.

When they give you the gas, what ever you do don't fight it trying to stay conscious. I did, and had a terrible felling of falling and I could see the room was spinning, the sounds of the machine next to me became a high pitched squeal (it was just a heart rate monitor beating normally) and I woke up feeling terrible.

Breath it in and stay relaxed.

Ask if they have Ketoprofen as a painkiller. My 'jawsurgeon' or 'kaakchirurg' as we call it, pulled my upper and lower left wisdom teeth and put me on that stuff afterwards. I was drinking coffee and eating cookies at lunch. They could have shot me and I wouldn't have felt it.

When I first went numb at like the age of 7, I remember standing in a mirror and biting my own lip because I couldnt feel it.
I bit so hard, I cut deep and scarred below my lip.

I lol'd at the time.

when I have to do something really shitty or stressful, a lot of the time I don't focus on the event or task itself, but on the time afterward, when I know it'll be over with and I can relax.  Just go with the flow.  the people working on you are as interested as you are in having an uneventful, sucessful operation.

tbh, what Mek said. You'll even be put under so I don't see the problem? The only thing you'll feel will be when you wake up. You won't be able to eat solid food for a few days, but after that you'll adjust and be fine again. Remember: the outcome is good. I'm off in a week or two to get 2 teeth removed. Will it be pretty? no. But there are a helluva lot worse things than that.

I'm not gonna lie to you kptk92 - it will be on your mind for the next 5 days. The best way to not focus on it is just to do what you'd normally do every day. What that is ... I'll leave that up to you.

lol, my brother did that. Should have seen the bruises when he woke up the next morning

KP - Try not to worry yeah, easily said I know but try and remember these things and hopefully they will calm you down.

Millions of people have had done already what you are about to and they have all come out of the other side better for it.

You in the hands of true professionals who will be at the top of their game, you couldn't be in better hands.

You could be going to hospital unplanned for an eg an accident needing treatment far far worse, depending on the hospital  there could be an A&E dept with some people there being far worse off than yourself.  There is always someone worse off.

The treatment you are having next week will stop a lot of pain and grief which your not going to get in later life, it's a relief you don't even know about.

You will have to put up with things later in life far worse than this.  In future years you may need future dental treatment which hurts both physically and financially.  Have this done and you will have no problems facing operations later down the line, you can take this experience with you and gain confidence from it.

Try and ask as many questions as possible, take an interest, that will calm you down a bit.

After they put the mask on you (simular to a pilots) and ask you to breathe the next thing you will know is waking up.  You will feel groggy at first maybe feel like puking as the gas effects people differently but if you had pain from your teeth before it will be gone.  Soft food for the first day or two and maybe get some drinking straws in pre-hand to help you drink (obviously) after the op.

Hospitals = Doctors.  Doctors Lil helpers = Nurses and I hope you don't get any bent Male ones.

I hope you get one of these instead

Hope the above helps, good luck with it and you will be fine.

That gas will knock you out faster than a bottle of whisky swung into your head (after drinking said whisky).  Don't worry.  Even if it's just local anesthetic, you won't feel anything.

Thats a pity as the sooner you could get this done the better and you'd be able to say to us all "you were right".  Just gives you more time now to worry about something which isn't as bad as it sounds to you.  Easy for me to say as I have had it done myself, I had it done in the Dentists mind, not the hospital.
