I expect more out of a candidate then lowering himself to the likes of sharpton and jackson.Masques wrote:
"I'm sick of america is racist..." yet you blast Obama as "using the race card" despite things like Obama monkey dolls and news reports of people saying they won't vote for a black man as president (in this case referring to skin tone only).
Nice crack about Alexandria. Now that's some bitterness.
What exactly is "playing the race card"? Is it Rush Limbaugh calling him Barack Hussien Obahhhma? Is it Barack himself saying that people will attack his color? Is any of this really that important in the election of the next president?
It seems to me that people get so caught up in the little bullshit bickering back and forth that has little-to-nothing to do with platform stances, campaign promises, any of that stuff.
As long as we can continue to have the candidates (and media) talk about anything OTHER than concrete ideologies and how they would promote the US as an example for the world, we can continue to have these asanine discussions that hold little to no value in actually making people more informed about the candidates.

You have the freedom to be a racist, but we have the freedom to rightly call you out as one.Schittloaf wrote:

This black man will not be president because people don't agree with his policy (dyed in the wool liberal). He's already torpedoed his own character quite nicely. He gets himself in trouble when he goes off the teleprompter ...Braddock wrote:
At this particular moment of your history a black man will never be President of your country. He will either have his character assassinated so as he won't win or he will be assassinated if he does win. This is the country you live in.
PS: I'd actually love to be proven wrong and have this quote thrown back in my face a year or so from now.
If the election were held today, Obama would win by a considerable margin.Stingray24 wrote:

Of course, a lot can happen in 5 months.
Is anyone denying the Republicans WON'T use his race against him? Jesus christ, they've been doing it ever since they figured out he was going to beat Hillary.
Some of you right wingers have already been fooled, you just don't know it yet.

I'd say on a personal level it clearly fits in with 1 and 3. If enough people in power feel the same then 2 applies as well.Schittloaf wrote:

Of course an inability to identify such views as racist simply makes one a bigot and an idiot or merely an asshole that know how to use the internet.
Right, politicians in America would never resort to using identity politics to scare themselves into a win.

I accept the fact that there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. I vote for the lesser of two evils.usmarine2 wrote:

I'm simply saying this type of "sympathetic" politics exist everywhere. It no different than McCain defending his age. The things people can not do anything about are not relevant to my decision. So to answer your question, you decide based on their position regarding the issues that matter to you personally.

what did Bush do..? other than Keep this country clear of any terrorist attacks since he has been in office? seriously you all need to quit watching the Libral News Channels and find out the real reasons behind the disaproval rates .... I will say the only thing I am upset with Bush about is the way he lets the Media give him a bad name and doesnt stick up for himself!
Bush was ok until he decided to invade Iraq. After that, things went downhill very quickly. The fact that so many members of his own party hate him now is proof that it's more than just a media conspiracy.Schittloaf wrote:
