Yup. They don't grade you on singing ability though. Just get the words right (they're right there anyway so you shouldn't screw up).

I got another letter today they said my application for permanent residence was approved and my status has officially been adjusted. I should expect my green card within 3 weeks

The only bad thing is that I think they're using the same picture they used on my employment authorization card (you get that before you get a green card so you can get work in the US). And I look retarded in it ah well only 5 years, then I can become a citizen and get a new photo for my ID (I bet we'll have a national ID by then...).

It is. My application was received in September, and they've just now approved it. It is very expensive and lengthy... no wonder there are so many illegals.

Lucky. It took my wife a year and a half to get hers. She got her work permit about six months after applying for permanent residence. The green card came about a year later. We had to go to an interview and the card was only valid for a year. After that year, we went to another interview and got her permanent green card. I don't know if you'll get that temporary card or not, it may just be for spouses.

The sad/funny thing is that our immigration lawyer told us he was surprised how fast it came back. He had other clients that had been waiting two years already. There are a couple of Indian guys that I work with who've been waiting longer. One of them has been waiting for almost two years. The other guy has been waiting for four.
