Simple note, http://canyouseeme.org/ is good to test if you have a port open or not. Searched did not find anything, thought I'd pass it on.

Good to know, thanks j.

edit: why don't my damn ports forward with DD-WRT?  I think I just should have stuck to the standard Linksys firmware...

So your ports don't want to open anymore?  It really bothers me because now I can't use my Vent server...

Not to mention if I even want to play Starcraft again, I can't host a match, and my P2P program will transfer slow, etc.

edit: check this out - http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/02/1 … ows-vista/

i did that, shut off my vent server, turned it back on, and vista gave me the keep blocking or unblock screen (which i had never seen before for Vent; keep in mind it was working before on the standard Linksys firmware).  I chose unblock and now I can connect.  Also, on canyouseeme, they say my port 3874 (Vent port) is open.

Yet my Starcraft ports still don't appear to be open...(6112)

I dunno i don't use it for my main router.

The reason I used it was to convert a router into a wireless bridge (converts it to a wireless client and a router).

It is a bit more advanced and requires some tweaking than the default firmware (especially if you get into overclocking your router's processor)
But if it does not have a feature you are going to take advantage of or give you some benefit, I would not bother installing it. The same goes for always installing the latest bios for no reason or snagging every beta the day it comes out
