i'm pondering whether having the ability to go xfire with these new ati cards is worth the extra costs of a motherboard to begin with?

i'd like some recommendations of good xfire mobos but preferably the cheapest ones as am not wanting to spend the earth

cheers

Depends. If you can make it with x8 + x8 PCI-E lanes, go with P45, if you want x16 + x16, X38.

P35 (x16 + x4) is a no-go.

Wisest that way. x8 is not enough for newer cards.

Gigabyte EP35-DS3P is purty good, we deal with them a lot, but I can't say we've ever tried the CrossfireX on it.

Cheap though

Out of curiosity and the final nail in the decision coffin. Is there any benchmarks of xfire on a P35 (x16 x4)?

I agree, three working BIOS flashes for RAMPAGE FORMULA on bf2s?  By yours truly, .Sup, and PanzerFIN?

I think that's your choice right there.
