Death Penalty- Should the UK bring it back?

Well?

We have murderers killing innocent people, getting a life sentence, and sitting comfortably in a place we think we don't want to go to. But prisoners have more rights than old people. On the news it said prison life was so nice, prisoners didn't want to leave. Should prison be this nice?

Should people who have killed innocent peole just sit there and make friends and laugh?

The UK has no death penalty at all source even for treason thanks to the European human rights act. But perversely if we ratify the Lisbon treaty we can have a death penalty again source. Gotta love the EU & their crazy plans.

But should we have a death penalty unless we are 110% certain of guilt then no we shouldn't have the death penalty.

I think it should be reserved for the worst of crimes. BUT, our justice system isn't good enough. The competence isn't there to ensure someone isn't wrongfully killed. And it's easy to manipulate.

To say the death penalty is acceptable in modern times is nothing short of pure ignorance.

The justice system isn't perfect, this is well known. Many innocent lives could potentially be taken as a result of wrongful convictions.

Vengeance isn't the point of justice. Justice is removing criminal acts from society. If a murderer is in prison, then the objective has been accomplished.

Its pretty hard to rescind a death sentence when someone is wrongly convicted.
No need for a death sentence - bring back hard labour.

Prison is all about rehibilitation now.
It should be 75% punishment followed by 25% rehabilitation IF the person warrants it.
