YES, what everybody asked for, you play the soviets now in this version
and look out consoles: its coming your waySoviet Assault will be released in Q4 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a stand-alone game, and for Windows-based PCs as a "Mission pack". It features new missions in the single player campaign and will integrate these new missions with the current US campaign, meaning the two will be interwoven with one another. The gameplay features reinforcements that can be called onto the battlefield by either using the context menu or voice communication using the headset.[2]
rts's always suck on consoles due to lack of immersion and control, imo.The new expansion pack will feature new maps, and a new single player campaign showing why the Soviet Union was forced to attack the US and NATO. For the two console versions, the multi player aspect will receive a drop in the amount of players able to play online, the change will be from 8 vs 8 to 5 versus 5 players. However the 8 vs 8 style will remain for the PC version. Voice control will be a new aspect, as the game will react to the voice that is projected. For example if a player states Nuclear Strike, the nuclear strike tag will appear and the player will immediately be able to place a nuke.[1]
