With gas prices rising and rising, what would you all think of having a no drive day ? I'd figure that if everyone here agreed to a date we could make this happen. You would be able to drive but just to work and back home (same goes with people in summer school.) What do you all think ? Do you think that this will be a waist of time ? " I wasn't sure if this would go in the debate and serious talk section so I just put this in EE.

Edit: I have no idea how many people we would need to affect gas prices but we can always use this as a save the environment day or something.

Yeah, the thing is.... Absolutely no one would notice other then the people here who were inconvenienced by it.

You would have to get many many times the number of members we have to participate before it would do anything other then make a symbolic gesture.

It's not really feasible. Even if you were to get a lot of people to stop driving, businesses will not. They account for just as much fuel consumption, if not more, than consumer consumption.

I think you're wasting your time, even if your head's in the right place.

I was contemplating on wether or no to get a huge email/mailing list to boycott shell gasoline starting laborday.

My grandpas got a million friends on his email who are foward whores. (:
If i started now by laborday shit would be everywhere

fuck shell there shit is 499 down the street

(because shell is the major gas corp that deals with iran, and i hate those bastards)

Even if most people went without buying gas for a few days, I highly doubt it would affect the gas prices, cause there would just be a surge afterwards.
