Yeah already been practicing haha..

It's not all about university though...IB was fucking hell and the last year drove me absolutely nuts..I just want that good grade to reflect the effort I put into the program.

Damn one point!

Well, still sounds pretty good. 5 points off your twin bro, ouch, but he's the evil twin so that's understandable

35 when you need 36 for a conditional? Sounds like a negligible difference, call 'em up and ask kindly for your place .

Helps if you know your marks- stress how you were only 2 marks away from the next grade boundary yada-yada ad infinitum and the cold ice queens sat in their imperial offices will soon melt like butter.

Out of 45..

35 is way above average...most people get around 30

My brother did fucking well though and he can get into any university he wants now...got 2 points over what is required at Oxbridge.

Naight..I needed 36 for Warwick so yeah I'm a little disappointed but I'm going to call them and explain my situation..after all I only got 1 point under my requirement.

I've secured my place at Exeter though

Plus if you have to take an entry examination you can always send your twin in to do it for you! lol

Well done nonetheless. I'm sure he gave up a social life just to beat you, so your still a winner.

Well done.

She said it was alright, I think she was talking about how the nightlife isn't all that (most of the time when we talk about Uni's, we're mainly talking about the fun bits lol). Dunno though, everyone has their own opinion when it comes to things like that.

lol, I guess the general consensus is that the nightlife really does suck. I don't know what type of person you are, but Uni can be pretty fucking shit if you're not having fun. Actually, I do know what type of person you are, you'd probably hate it

I don't know anything about Exeter though, so can't help you out there

Apparently exeter night life is ok...I'm definitely going down to party my fucking dick off....but I'm also wanting to go to the best uni I can and Warwick is number 5 in the UK. Thing that I'm worried about is that they'll be loads of smartass Indian geeks there

For Warwick uni the nightlife will probably be contained within the campus.  The university is out in the sticks and requires a bus/car journey into the nearest city which is Coventry.  Coventry is a total shithole and full of losers.

I lived in Coventry for a year when i did a sandwich placement during the 3rd year of my undergraduate at Jaguar Cars when i was 21.  The place sucks ass.

As a institution itself Warwick is superb so you wont too many problems getting a job if you get your 2.1.

Well, congrats on your 35. As you said, that's quite above average. Mind you, it looks good when you put it on your resume...but isn't that the raison d'être of IB?? I've still got a year in that hell to go, we'll see if I can do better, k?

Oh, and give a good word to your brother, will you?

To all you other non-IB people out there: you need 24 to pass, the average, I believe, is 29.6.

Yeah that's what I've heard and what attracted me to the place..especially doing law.

O well..I got what I got and I tbh I really don't mind going to Exeter because it is also a good university..my dad went there!

It's also in a really really nice part of England..

Good luck TSI...remember study your fucking ass off at the end. It may be tiring but it's definitely worth it!

Warwick is a nice campus, I looked around it during one of their Open Days a few years back.

Don't be too narrowminded with the so called 'league tables'- they're often very subjective, and are hardly conducted by the most credible and reliable of institutions; The Times is not an independant academic review board the last time I checked . Warwick is definitely one of the top though, joining Oxbridge and the likes of Durham in the Russell Group (the UK version of The Ivy League, as such).

Before I fell in love with the idea of reading Literature at University, I also looked around at Law and it seemed the real big players were namely the ruling London University triumvirate of Kings College, University College and London School of Economics. Durham is always a consistently good University also that never seems to get the real acclaim that it deserves- always lapping dilligently behind the old Oxbridge institutions in terms of academia. Although saying that I do believe Durham is rated higher than Oxbridge in terms of English Literature research placements!

Best of luck to you, and congratulations
