I wouldn't call it leadership, Kmarion. Just a 'crat on the Hill who thinks he knows things. Personally, I wish we had Jack Ryan for president ...

The national speed limit would be an absolute joke. We need to step up refining to back to what it was BEFORE Katrina (last I heard it still wasn't done), increase domestic production (it's safe for off-shore and there's a shit ton in the southwest), and so on and so forth.

That, and turn a lot of the desert into a gigantic solar farm. I mean shit, is Death Valley really being used for anything? Nothing lives there. Put a field of solar panels out there!

Yeah, they use it for films.

Don't ask me which ones but I know there were some big ones filmed there.

lol fuck you guys and you "55mph is so fucking slow"

HIGHEST SPEED LIMIT on australian roads is 110km/h (100km/hr = 60mph). And our police like get erections over catching people speeding.

Wait wait. America's highways don't have a speed limit?

Why am I only learning this now.
They do, but the limits vary between states and highways. Some highways here seem to be 55mph, some seem to be 65mph. I think a few states have it at 75MPH.

edit: lol Smithereener, one time I was driving up to New York with the family. My mom is a speed demon, so at one point we were doing like 105MPH (okay it's not lightning fast but it's well above the limit). We shot right past a state trooper, but luckily he was already pulling somebody else over
My brother hit 120 mph going to flordia My dad him and my uncle were racing to see who would get to the Flordia border first lol. Little did my brother know the first one to cross the border had to buy dinner. He slammed the breaks got in the shoulder and went 5 mph lol! Good times...

Americans drive slow as fuck anyway.

The answer is to stop buying SUVs, and learn to make a car that doesn't have a 9834569386cc engine.

Fuck yeah.

I read somewhere that the average engine size in the US is ~3.0, that's just fucking ridiculous. Especially when they need a 8.2 litre engine to get out around 500 bhp, the japs can get that out of a 2.0 in their afternoon tea break.

Actually, John Warner is a Republican ... he's retiring from the Senate this year, and not seeking re-election so I guess he gets to be a scapegoat to propose potentially controversial legislation.
