.44/.45 cal comparison

so, whats the difference? From the little bit that I know, a .44 has more or less the same stopping power as a .45 with the ammo capicity as a 9mm.

EDIT: .45 ACP. Somewhere I heard that there was a .44 round (not Mag), I think my dad told me about it how its being issued to pilots. hope that helps

Depends on what kind of .44 you're talking about. The .44 magnum is longer and more powerful than the .45

I'm too tired to remember any other details about anything though.

yeah, he isn't really giving us exactly what question he wants answered

theres the familar .44mag but then you could dabble in rifle calibers ie. 44-40 ..... then theres the .45, does he mean ACP or GAP

No, there are several differences, cartridge size, powder load, velocity, and several others that I can't remember right now.

in your first line you're thinkin .40 S&W

the 2nd part theres a variety of .44 - mag, colt, russian, S&W special ---- as for pilots, must .44 comes in revolvers (except for Desert Eagle & Auto Mag ) and pilots are issued semi ie. majority carry Beretta 9mm but you can come across some that carry something different from 1911 .45 ACP to XD .40 S&W
