Overall, a decent watch with great directing. The problem lies in them skimping on certain details which claw at the back of your head while you're trying to watch the rest of the movie.

Why the fuck are the aliens there in the first place? Why didn't they leave the ship? Why DID the ship stop over Johannesburg? What the fuck is MNU meant to be exactly? A hybrid of blackwater and monsanto? How does Wikus instantly know how to use the alien ship/walker? etc. etc.


The lead actor was great though. Utterly convincing as an ordinary bloke who just got caught up in a shitstorm he wasn't ready for, as opposed to your typical Hollywood instant hero just add a gun. The score could have used a little more attention. The props and such, as with all Wingnut + WETA films were absofuckinglutely terrific.

I just loved the guys accent.

Seriously how the fuck did I miss this movie when it came out. Absolutely brilliant. Entertaining, funny and they made an unoriginal idea into an original one.

Know what disturbed me the most about that movie? Apart from it being rather mediocre, I couldn´t figure out why we saw that guy´s penis like 4 times and not ONCE Kristen Bells boobs or at least butt?!

Rhodesian accents > South African ones.

I've met a few, to put it frankly, refugees from Zimbabwe who've had their land robbed from them. Awesome guys.

Angels and Demons. Pretty much exactly what you would expect from the sequel to the Davinci Code. Truth be told the "follow the clue" stuff gets to be tedious.. but hey, that's the audience they are playing to right? The end was a bit of a surprise to me, which doesn't happen much.
