Iran will strike Israel and the US navy in the Gulf if it is attacked over its nuclear programme, a senior Iranian official has warned.

"The first US shot on Iran would set the United States' vital interests in the world on fire," said Ali Shirazi, an aide to Iran's supreme leader.

"Tel Aviv and the US fleet in the Persian Gulf would be the targets that would be set on fire," he said.

what do you lot think of the latest comments from Iran, i must say Iran is standing up to a beast with a iron fist, which attacks nations who stand up to it.

I hope America attacks Iran, so they get into a recession, billions if not trillions of dollars more in debt and hopefully this will be the final chapter in the history of the great plague, known as America and they will become a third world country.

Well, on one hand I think it's good that they're standing up for themselves, but on the other hand, Iran scares me in quite a few ways. Whilst I despise Israeli politics, a war in the ME would be terrible for everyone - including Palestine and Europe (damned gas prices)
I certainly hope the US does not go into a recession, as that would screw pretty much the global economy over.

PS It will stop when American politicians continue along the same path of fiscal irresponsibility they have trodden for quite some time until a point arrives when their economy implodes and the rest of the world has to look to China and Asia for markets for their products. No war will come to pass. Fiscally the US will have lost the financial power to project their military and political powers globally. It is not an inevitability I would add.
