Yet again lowing you prove that you never properly take in what people actually say in opposing arguments. I never said African Americans shouldn't move on from the past and try to make the best of the current situation...I simply said that all the damage done in the apartheid era did not magically disappear with the advent of emancipation. There is nothing to be gained by dwelling on the past (as Jackson appears to love doing) but that does not mean we should attempt to negate the effects the past still has on the present.lowing wrote:

- Jesse Jackson Gets A Taste of His Own Bullshit
Anything is possible. We have a party that is disoriented and fragmented at best, another that's run being now run by socialenviromarxists, audience 'plants' asking cherry picked questions, Candidates politically tossing friends colleagues and family 'under the bus', more flip flops than a beach, and media ('cept fox) is biased as hell. US politics at work..FEOS wrote:
Heard an interesting theory today...
Jackson's son is the co-chair of Obama's campaign. Perhaps this was staged so Obama could publicly distance himself from Jackson and all his baggage, thereby garnering more votes.
Probably not, but it's an interesting theory. And shows just how cynical people are about politics in general in this country.

There's a considerable flaw in FEOS's theory. Jackson isn't the type to usually swallow his pride. I think this was a genuine case of jealousy on Jackson's part because of his megalomaniacal tendencies. Essentially, Jackson is an attention whore just like Al Sharpton. I seriously doubt Jackson would intentionally put himself in a position to look bad.DBBrinson1 wrote:

Besides, Jackson already puts himself in that position often enough through his own foolishness. The last thing he needs to do is to do it on purpose.
Come on Brinson, you're better than that...at least say "FOX is one of the few that's biased in the other direction" instead of trying to claim it's not biased.DBBrinson1 wrote:

Not my theory. Heard it today on local radio.Turquoise wrote:

And yes, the jackass has an ego the size of rammunition's.

The only reason Jesse Jackson is even talked about is because people like you care so much about what he says that you post shit like this.
Tried and true self-aggrandizing.
Here is a thought: just like the boogeyman, if you close your eyes and put your hands over your ears, he disappears.

I think what concerns people about Jesse are the idiots who support him. I don't understand why anyone would support Jesse at this point. Then again, I don't understand why so many North Carolinians supported Jesse Helms until the end either.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I guess there's just a lot of idiots on both sides....
Good Point, but that is what makes it so brilliant. I'm sure it wasn't his idea, but say his son was guaranteed a bad ass cabinet position. Hell, if any news media would catch and run it it'd be FOX. And they would run that quip for a few days. Damn, what a way to use an media outlet that you hate. Now he's got an excuse not to go on FOX ever again... However, your solution is more likely.Turquoise wrote:

I know man, I put that in there for you. It didn't take you long at all. I get my news from several sources print/internet/tv. All are biased so why not tend to favorevery now and again the ones that cater to my political values and some times of the same morals. And they have hot chicks. I don't think my wife would permit the naked news, but I'll try it. I don't do the opinions/riley/leftshit type shows, but I do also check the MSNBCBSNN's too. But hell man, I don't have all kinds of time to sift through news. I'm on BF2s.com -Damnit!Braddock wrote:

But that is one reason this place is great. Say something that doesn't settle well with another, and they let you know.. If you're lucky they'll also tell you why.

Nobody has "negated" the past, they have righted a wrong, the rest is up to you/them.Braddock wrote:

No one is dwelling on the past, except those that LOVE to exploit it, which has been my argument all along.
