...and it is in a bunch of RAR files, do you extract it and delete the RAR files or do you just temporarily extract it?
RARs are archives, like zip files. If you're downloading a RAR/Zip you can simply extract it and do away with the archive.
-edit- temporarily extracting something will waste your time when you want to go back and use the file again.

There's no point, they just take up space. I only kept them when I didn't have my RS Premium, because it would be a bitch to re DL if I lost the movie.
Now I delete them
Now I delete them
My compressed folder in IDM is 11.1GB from 26th June.

I first scan the RAR for any viruses, extract and then delete the RAR source
You should extract the movie file and not delete the rar's so that you can seed them. No one likes a leecher. (Unless you're using RS, then you can delete the rar's.)

An American guy in my old clan who had just downloaded some game for the first time actually downloaded all the rar files, then didn't know what to do, so he just deleted all but one of them because they all had the same name and he thought it was just the same files... lol
