My gaming PC wont startup.

I turn it on, The BIOS sreen appears, as usual, then the XP loading screen, then it restarts and prompts me to use safe mode. Even when i try safe mode it still restarts. It was working fine last night, i didnt change anything, i didnt update anything.

Any ideas on how to fix? Or it Re-format time?

If possible try starting from a startup disk and run chkdsk.

Hmmmm....Followed that until step 6, mine didnt have C:/WINDOWS, It only had C>

But i still entered chkdsk /r  and it seems to be working now, taking its time though.

I'm starting to think my HD was erased, there was no C:/WINDOWS, and 307245 mb free space on my "320 gb" HD

Yeah, chkdsk runs from command line no matter where you are specifically.

It's possible that it got wiped, if you want to keep your files, don't reinstall windows, but find a LiveCD Linux distro that allows File restoration, then PM me the link to said distro XD

Loosing data isnt really a problem, i have all my music/videos/documents saved on an old 20gb ipod xD

If chkdsk doesnt work it's re-format time

It's ok, Formats are the shit XD

I do it every 2 months, from my 500Gb HD, 100 is for widows/apps, the rest for anything I give a shit about.

Recently, I decided to clean up my partitions, I hit a wrong button and erased EVERYTHING.

Blah, music and movies are fine, I watched em all, what kills me is that I lost Raw video of my 6 month old Brother
Dad almost cried when I told him :'(

I still haven't found a freeware program that can restore deleted partitions, I'm sure the video was somewhere near the end of an almost filled drive, so I've got some time, but yeah,

So, anyone know of a Freeware program that can restore deleted partiton files?
