Dunno...i would lean towards drought in this case.

But what does it matter...we're still fucked either way because it seems people don't give a hoot about preserving the earth whether or not climate change is for real because for some fucking reason they are under the wild delusion that the earth will magically repair itself....

Climate change.

Thinking everything is going to stay the same because we've tracked it for the last 100 years and it's stayed in a 'relative' boundary is beyond ignorant.

Shit changes.. we're probably not helping though

We have been in a drought in Australia for 8 years. I think its pretty much the norm now.

I think a little bit from column A, a little bit from column B.

Drought and the stupid environmentalists.  Opposition to controlled burns for forest floor clean up and any type of clear cutting leaves more to be ignited ... resulting in countless acres going up in smoke anyway.  Good one, Sierra Club, now piss off and let the forest management do their job.

I agree let forests naturally burn to get rid of the underbrush, so the forest can grow anew on healthy foundation, and that it doesn't turn into a giant bomb waiting to happen.

I thought it was over farming that caused that. I'm probably wrong though given I know fuck all US history.

That's not my point.  If the interweb and 24hr news had been around then, people would have blamed global warming.

The planet has cooled over the last decade. While it's fine to point to El nino for the long term explanation, don't tell me that the current round of fires is suddenly caused by GW.

No crop rotation. No wind protection. Not to hard to figure out.

I thend to think it is cyclical. That cycle may take longer than our lives and the lives of our children to realize, but Florida has also been in a state of draught.

You know that big ass lake in the Middle of Florida?

Sadly, It's gone largely unnoticed.

In committee meeting attended I learned that the Aquifer is also in danger.  Miami-Dade county has all ready had water restrictions..

Here in Tallahassee one 5 years ago could set their watch on when it was going to rain.  Just now is that returning.

You as usual are correct, Sir.

I was assigned to the Environmental Preservation Committee and learned that the State is trying to undo much of the damage it did back when Florida was really developed.  The clock is being rolled back in a sense on what they are doing to the Everglades and other similar areas.  The acquisition of Babcock Ranch was huge.  I watched Bi-Partisanship prevail on many occasions in 401SB.  There are still major problem facing Floriada that range from invasive species (anaconda, iguanas, hydrilla) to sewage outfalls.  Those are still being brainstormed, with temp band-aids thus far applied.  The average citizen really doesn't give it a thought.

Drought.

The La Nina (NOT an El Nino - or at least I hope the hell not) is not doing its job properly.

It happens, not everything is GW.

I have, before, pointed out the credibility (or lack thereof) of articles from DT and in paticular from that paticular person.

Fair enough. But if the La Nina was doing its job then we wouldn't still be going through this shit.
