- Flagship Studios' Closure Confirmed, All Staff Fired, All I.P. Lost
Wow. Shame they lost their jobs, but that's a rare thing to see from any company providing that sort of support. Thanks to the guys who gave up their salaries to pay the unfortunate employees.Balbi went on to reveal that three of the studio's top brass dug into their own pockets to provide 30 days of pay to all employees.

He called it Hellshit because when the game was initially released it was total wank, apparently they were way too ambitious. They managed to turn it around eventually but the damage had been done, and down the kazi they go.usmarine2 wrote:

That's too bad. Some of the employees were from Diablo I think.
yeah a very few, they bet on the wrong horse.
there are a lot of jobs for qualified game devs... if they have skills they will get a job at another company... The game making industry is pretty hardcore... lot's of hours and not a lot of money... and a very fickle audience...lol

Love is the answer
Hellgate Londo should be F2P(Free to play)
I might have played it if they didn't charge monthly fees for premium. The demo didn't really do it for me either.

ha, not too sure about not a lot of money... yes not a lot of money when you first begin about £16k first year for junior developer, going up to around £32k by the second year and sometimes by half a year. People doing project leads get paid a LOT of money. The games industry at least in the UK is the most lucrative entertainment industry, more than music and film put together.[TUF]Catbox wrote:

However you are right, those guys with titles under their belt will find new jobs pretty easily. Gotta feel bad for the juniors who joined only to have their first game be a bit of a fail.
Wow, Im amazed that was faked, it was all over the big games development sites. Again apparently not fake.

The link to the statement is from June, this recent news is from July.
It does seem that everyone is still in employment but they had to sell the IP to keep themselves in business.

Hellshit london I watched the trailer for that a couple of years ago it looked cool. Then it turned out to be role playing gay shit.
