What are your predictions for Saturday and Sunday?

I think McLaren is going to be strong.  There also is a chance on a wet qually and race. (I <3 wet races)

here you can follow the practise sessions live

Looks like McLaren are ontop in practice. But generally speaking practice times don't mean that much. They are looking strong though, so I'm gonna expect that Hamilton qualifies in pole or at least on the front row

Yeah wet races are always awsm

Nurburgring race course sucks. For the pure reason that, If you're going to go to the ring, use the real (Nordschleife) thing damnit

Now that would be an F1 race

yeah but there would be pitstops every other lap.

There wouldn't be that many laps in the first place, lid. Lap numbers are usually done by distance/time so they'll change it accordingly

I know, say there were 10 laps they'd still pit after every other one because it's over 9000 miles a lap.

The main problem would be the long straight. F1 cars could not handle going down that straight. If they can't manage the straights at Le Man, no way could they do it at the Ring.

why would they the faster you go the more downforce is produced so why couldnt they handle the mulsanne if they they are more aerodynamically efficient than the LMP1 cars?

It would be mechanical reasons not aerodynamics

would be due to the fact that the engines and gearbox wouldn't take the stress of running on a circuit like le mans?

Probably. Going at those revs consistently for extended periods of time can't be good

plus they probably would reach the same top speed of the LMP1 cars either I think this year the 908 set a top speed of 240 which is about 30 faster than the highest speeds of F1.

Like Mek said, it'd be mechanical issues. F1 cars aren't built for straight line racing at that sort of length - also their acceleration is much greater than that of LMP1 cars - they are built for endurance and can handle it, no way could F1 cars handle it.
