ROFL BF2 is now a three year old game, even a 8600GT can play it on ultra high now. 9800GTX is a waste of money unless you're playing on very high resolutions (1920x1080 and above) or doing calculations on it (Folding@home for example). With the exception of Crysis, there's really no need for higher-end cards than the 8800GT/3870 right now. They can run 99% of all games out now maxed.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity.
