Hamas security forces in the Gaza Strip are said to have arrested 160 Fatah supporters and set up checkpoints after an explosion killed six people.

Now that there are two Palestines, how do you consider Fatah and Hamas?
Is Hamas a police force? A government? Just terrorists? What the hell are those guys?

What they need is a body that can negotiate for the Palestinians. Hamas or Fatah, don't matter to me, as long as there is a party in control to answer for the rockets and negotiate in good faith.

The Israelis wouldn't negotiate properly with Fatah because it was too weak to control Palestine and was run by 'terrorists'.
No there is an organisation in place which is strong enough to control Palestine the Israelis won't negotiate with them either becasue they are run by terrorists.
Hamas is a product of its environment, like Hezbollah, both came into existence solely to counter the Israeli threat to the local people.
Hamas has done quite a bit for the Palestinians at a local level. They can't do much wrt the Israelis as the playing field is so thoroughly skewed.

How many Israeli politicians used to be terrorists? And then there's Sharon....
