A bunch of us started a website for discussion about this, Omnideth drew some concept art, Bucks and I wrote an opening act for the story and we decided that the signature weapon was going to be a lawnmower-blade attached to a hatchet handle. Didn't go anywhere from there though, what can you expect? A game is hard to make.

My idea > anything you could make up. Oh, and I almost have a storyline, so maybe I'll just sell this to Valve or sommat.

Imagination is key my friend, having it in an already existing place limits you. I'd suggest basing the setting on Mahattan, it gives you a bit of creative freedom which will only add to your game.
If it is made I request only one thing - put me in the credits. "A very special thanks to Ty" will suffice.

I disagree with that though kptk. Diferent types of games don't appeal to all players. The RTS junkies won't like the FPS element, the FPS junkies won't like the RTS and so on. You have to appeal to a specific market, you can't just scattergun the whole thing.
