I don't see what's so bad about that. The drivers for certain kinds of CD-ROM/CDRW/etc drives can cause problems with certain (especially older) applications.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Ubisoft completely blows at making PC games. Period.

Every PC game I've ever played from Ubisoft has had some error, or incompatibility, or laggy/buggy, etc.

One of the splinter cells (forgot which) didn't work at all on my PC, because apparently it was only tested/coded on one specific chipset. Wtf...

I have Assassin's Creed and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and they both have been working perfectly.

lol freezer, they are doing this to stop people using drive mounting and emulation software with illegal or legal copies of the games they own. Hence the Daemon tools and alcohol soft detection methods they use.

When you run one of their .exe's the game will check if you have emulation software installed. If so, then even if your not using it the game will not run.

The fix for this of course is to download a cracked .exe

So even if your doing the right thing, and using the proper cd, they are stopping you from using another companies software. Forcing you to find an illegal and cracked .exe to start with.

I have Vegas and it's kinda laggy and textures don't load right in places, such as the ammo containers which have somewhat blurry letters and lighting doesn't affect them at all, they cast no shadows and no shadows are cast on them.  This would otherwise be normal with the 360 version.

The last Ubisoft game that gave me problems was Brothers in Arms. Apparently it's DRM software didn't like my dvd burner disc drive. At that time I was pissed because I had just spent $50 on a game that wouldn't work, and I couldn't get a refund. Now if I purchase a game and it gives me problems, I just put it on Ebay.

Purchased vegas 2 today, and it's good stuff. Controls are good, weapon sounds are punchy and crisp, and the squad controls are laid out well. The only real problem I have with the vegas games is that these console ports are horribly optimized for the PC version, so there is noticeable slowdown and stutters throughout the game.

I thought it was just my hardware and settings tbh(which weren't even that demanding) but I guess everyone gets that with this game.

Download Y.A.S.U to hide the emulation software.

Tom Clancy - Double Agent hasn't worked for me. For one, it doesn't even support 1440x900 - i mean, what sort of sucky game doesn't even support that? and that it would randomly crash because their idea of porting a game from the Xbox to the PC is changing the controls. fking retards.

Depends on the title. Some people have luck, some just don't.

I remember WiC had issues with emulation software, as one of my friends loudly complained about.

A game that doesn't support widescreen?  BF2 currently doesn't unless I missed something.  That something being 1.50
