Has anyone else heard about this? Apparently they're closing all their restaurants as of today, along with Steak N Shake* (good riddance) and Ponderosa. They mentioned it on the radio this morning, but I don't see anything on the major news sites.

I'm going to miss the Monte Cristo.

Their official statement is that many Ponderosa and Bonanza steak houses will remain open (they are likely franchisees) ... but, the parent organization of Bennigans filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which means death & liquidation.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! One of the few Bennigan's Sports in the country is in Indiana (for whatever reason)! That place rocks, as does Steak 'n Shake.

I remember going to ponderosa alot in florida, it was pretty awesome with an excellent buffet and was really cheap.

I'm not sure what is going on. Steak n Shake is a separate company (NYSE: SNS) ... perhaps the company that owns Bennigan's also owns a bunch of Steak n Shake franchises ...

Edit: wait ... the OP is confused ... it is Steak and ALE that is owned by the company going bankrupt, and NOT Steak n Shake.
