Lolzor... the 17-19 inches is winning, whereas on another poll sometime ago people claimed they have widescreen lcds... weird
You know, there are widescreen 17-19" LCDs.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

17" screen, like people say before: "Some people have a laptop." Great one, but only a laptop.

24" + 1920x1200 + WidescreenFixer = awesomeness

Although, my crosshair is stretched too as illustrated before. (and so are the HUD & texts)

Doesn't bother me really, because the center of the crosshair is still in the right place.

At that res, you may as well play at 1280x1024 m80.

His monitor probably doesn't do 1280x960 at a decent frequency.

It doesn't. You just think so because you don't have anything better to compare to. Anything under 75 and my eyes will bleed.

60Hz on an LCD (if that's what your talking about) isn't any different on your eyes than 75Hz because LCD's dont literally refresh like a CRT monitor, just set it as high as it can go so you don't get tearing= if you have a monitor that can do 75Hz, and you set it to 50Hz and get 100fps, you will get much more tearing at 50Hz than 75Hz because the frames are much higher than refresh rate- if you get low fps it don't matter what you choose.

I know, please, I own two stickis in Tech, but I have yet to see an LCD monitor with 1152x864. I assumed he was using a CRT. Especially as there are many CRTs that do 1152x864@75. I've got three of them (different models) here myself.
